Hailing from North London, Halia Jack adds a refreshing taste to the current landscape of pop music by infusing the genre with her own unique flavour.
A talented multi-instrumentalist, Jack grew up in a household resounding with some of the most seminal and quintessential voices in musical history and her early life was accompanied by a rich, cultured and eclectic soundtrack of Soul, 60’s Motown and classic rock. Naming Jimi Hendrix and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers as some of her favourites, Jack was also introduced to the likes of Al Green, Otis Redding and Diana Ross by her mother and 90s Pop by her older sister, all which helped set a foundation for her artistic direction.
Heralded by two singles, ‘Waited Long Enough’ and ‘Threw It Away’, Halia’s upcoming EP is set to be released in the late summer of 2019. A harmonious display of her intertwined musical and personal journeys, Dreamland boasts an impressively vast sonic scope, admirable creative autonomy and is symbolic of Jack’s immense growth. With an underlying message of honouring and embracing all felt emotions, Jack is effectively reconstructing the DNA of pop music whilst inspiring her listeners to find strength and empowerment in vulnerability.
